What have you done for yourself lately?

Deanna Stanley Season 1 Episode 2

Just a quick catch up so you know what we're doing! Don't worry, we'll be back with a regular episode soon.

Deanna:

Hi, this is Deanna. And Kara can't join us today because she has a much better work ethic than I do. But I wanted to pop in real quick and let you know what was going on with us so that you don't think we abandoned you. So don't worry, we'll be back. Last weekend. We were at the society of women, engineers, Baltimore convention. Which was really a wonderful time to meet so many wonderful, talented women who could share their knowledge with the world. Karen. I also had an opportunity to talk about hiring women who are returning to work after a time at home with their children. This is an important thing because they're an untapped workforce that we really should take advantage of. And who want to work? So the next time you see a resume of a woman who has that gap. Think about talking to her, she may have more skills than you realize. Stay at home. Moms have to learn how to negotiate. Schedule. They have to be agile and adaptable. They really have a lot of skills that are completely transferable into the workplace. Now. Because we actually do believe in work-life balance. Kara and I are taking a vacation and we'll be gone for the next two weeks, which made me think. What if you tend for yourself lately? Really. When it's the last time you've had a chance to really rest and recover. I'm not talking a weekend. I'm talking some real downtime. Burnout is real people. And the whole point of vacation is to help you. Be the best person you can be by taking time off when you need to. Something. I like to ask the people around me is when is the last time you had a vacation where you didn't have to do things? Where you weren't moving, where you weren't taking care of a family member where you brought wrangling killed. if the answer is more than six months, your Gale. Please be kind to yourself. Take a little bit of time off. And we'll be here when you get back. Tacky later.
